Membership Policies

 

Grist Mill Pool & Tennis Club Policies and Guest Information


1. Hours of operation for the 2010 season are approximately 10am-8pm, Monday - Sunday.
**Hours are always weather permitting.

2. HOURS AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE SEASON MAY INCREASE OR DECREASE DUE TO WEATHER OR STAFFING.

3. Guest fee rates will be $7.00 every day; after 5pm the fee will be $5.00. Children under the age of 2 will not be charged a guest fee.

4. Any guest will be limited to two paid visits per month (exceptions made for members’ guests who are in town for an extended stay); however, there is no limit to the number of guests a member may bring. All guests will be recorded at entry.

5. Members are responsible for their guest’s actions at all times. Any disturbances will result in ejection from the grounds and a possible suspension of membership privileges.

6. All guests must be accompanied by a member.

7. All sign ups for our programs and activities will be at the front gate. There you will also find flyers announcing different activities as well as information on upcoming events.

8. There are no reserved areas for individuals or groups. Please show courtesy toward other members.

9. The pool may be closed at anytime for maintenance, inclement weather, special events, or health conditions.

10. The main swimming pool will be closed during swim meets, however, the pool grounds will still be open. Meets are generally scheduled in the morning and dates will be posted ahead of time at the front gate.

11. Tennis courts are on a first come, first served basis and may be used on an hourly basis when there are no activities scheduled. All lessons and leagues will take precedence.

12. Any interference by a member with the management or staff, as well as any kind of misconduct, will result in membership termination.

13. Management reserves the right to limit or refuse guests due to overcrowding or special events.

14. Members using babysitters may do so for that purpose only. Babysitters may use the grounds while performing their babysitting duties only

Pool Rules

Pool rules are designed to provide a safe and friendly environment for members and guests. It is the responsibility of the managers, lifeguards, and staff to enforce all pool rules.

  1. Members and guest must sign in upon entering the pool grounds.
  2. Members may pay for and bring a guest up to two paid visits per calendar month (please speak to Managers about members’ guests who are in town for an extended stay)
  3. A Member is not limited to the number of guests at any time, as long as the guest has not exceeded their two visits/calendar month limit. All guests will be recorded at entry.

  7. Sign-ups for all programs and activities will be at the front gate. Also at the front gate will be an Activity board and flyers that will show upcoming activities and events.
  8. The staff will post on the Activity board any upcoming home swim meets. These meets generally occur in the morning and are finished by late morning. The main swimming pool is closed during these meets; however, the pool grounds are still open.
  9. The pool may be closed at anytime for maintenance, inclement weather, special events, or health conditions.
  10. Adult members are responsible for their children understanding the rules.
  11. Children must have an adult responsible for them at all times. Parents must accompany children under the age of fourteen. Parents leaving unsupervised children will be subject to a suspension of their membership.
  12. Tennis courts are on a first come, first served basis and may be used on an hourly basis when there are no activities scheduled. All lessons and leagues will take precedence.
  13. The pond area is not the property of the Grist Mill Pool Club .

  16. There are no refunds of membership or guest fees.


All Members and Guests of any age are asked to follow the following rules:

    All Areas:

    • Walk at all times, in all areas
    • All food and beverages are to be consumed in the designated areas only. No food, candy or drinks other than water in closed plastic containers, is allowed on the grassy area or on the pool deck. Coolers are not allowed on the grassy area or on the pool deck.
    • There are no reserved areas for individuals or groups. Please do not come in and place your things on a table for the day. Please show courtesy toward other members.
      • If a party has been pre-arranged with the managers, an area may be designated for use for the day.
    • Please clean your table after eating and replace your coolers in the designated area so that other might have access to the limited tables and umbrellas. Management has the right to remove coolers from tables that are not in active use.
    • No Glass is allowed in any part of the pool, deck or grass.
    • Shoes must be work on the upper deck at all times
    • Running, horseplay, offensive language or behavior will not be tolerated
    • Everyone using the pools must wear a clean bathing suit. No cut-offs, jeans, or t-shirts will be allowed for safety and operational reasons.
    • A cleansing shower must be taken prior to entering the pool.
    • Lockers are provided inside the locker rooms. Please remove all locks prior to 6pm.
    • The club is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items

    Pool Area:

    • No diving in the shallow end of the pool
    • Flotation devices, noodles, flippers, toys or balls, are allowed only in the shallow end of the pool. Kickboards are not allowed as toys
    • Balls and other water toys are allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard on non-busy days
    • Any object that may in any way carry contamination or endanger the safety of other swimmers is not allowed.
    • All children who are not fully toilet trained will not be allowed in the adult pool at any time.
    • Diapers, “swimmies”, or rubber underwear of any kind are not allowed in the adult pool
    • Children who cannot swim must wear a personal flotation device and be within arm’s reach of their parents or guardian. Children may use personal flotation devices as long as a parent or guardian is within arm’s reach.
    • Lap lanes are provided for lap swimmers only. Kickboards are allowed for lap swimming
    • There will be no cutting through the lap lanes or hanging on the lap lines
    • Chicken fights (sitting on each other shoulder’s) are not allowed
    • Adult swim will be called each hour on the hour for 15 minutes. This includes the Learning Pool.
    • Adult swim is for members age 16 and older
    • No person suffering from a fever, cough, cold, inflammation of the eyes, nasal or ear discharges, or any communicable disease will be allowed in the pools.
    • No person with sores or other evidence of skin disease, or who is wearing a bandage or medical covering of any kind, shall be allowed use of the pool.
    • No person shall spit in or in any way contaminate the pool, or its surrounding areas.

    Deep End Diving Area:

    • Children must pass a basic deep end test in order to use the diving board, slide or swim in the deep end by themselves. Lifeguards can be asked to administer the test when it is does not take away from their lifeguarding duties. The deep end test consists of swimming across and back in the diving end of the pool and treading water for one minute.
    • Jump or dive straight off the board, not to the sides. There will be no running off the board.
    • After going off the diving board or slide, swim to the closest ladder
    • Goggles are not be worn while going off the diving board or slide
    • When going down the slide, you must go feet first
    • Parent/adult is allowed to catch a child at the bottom of the slide or diving board after notifying the lifeguard and receiving approval
    • A child may wear a bubble or wings while swimming in the deep end but only if a parent/guardian is in the water with them and at arm’s reach
    • Floatation devices are not allowed in the deep end while going off the board or slide
    • No swimming between diving board and slide
    • Only one person is allowed on the diving board or slide at any time. The next person will wait at the bottom of the steps of either the diving board or slide.

    Kiddie Pool/Learning Pool:

    • Parents must accompany and stay with children who are using the kiddie and learning pool.
    • Aqua shoes must be worn in the kiddie pool
    • Appropriate age children only are allowed in the kiddie pool
    • Toys are provided and allowed in this area and we ask parents to monitor the use and sharing for all

    All staff members (managers, lifeguards, or staff) have the responsibility to enforce all rules at all times. If, after several attempts to remind someone of a rule, the staff will enforce a “time out” for the safety of all.

    Staff members also have the right to request a child be sent home from the pool club if a serious infraction has occurred, or repeated corrections do not change behavior.
